Aight check it...
KSFM 102.5 Had the Future Flavor Show for a long time that showcased the local Hip-Hop/R&B Talent...Once they told Big AL that they didn't need him on the show no more, the show ratings went down and they canceled it all together...
KBMB has 80West Radio still from what I know...Not to sure at this point due to all the changes THEY are undergoing...getting rid of The Mid Day Diva Nikia's Position and not calling it "The Bomb" any more (Hot 103.5) and from what I heard changing their format to a more "POP" sound...pretty much sounding like 107.9 The End (Which to me 102 & 103 where both on the way to sounding like that anyways cough Sellouts)
Look yall The Sacramento Hip-Hop/R&B stations NEVER REALLY SHOWED US THE LOVE AND RESPECT WE DESERVE ANYWAYS! They threw us bones and we loved em for it...Yeah it did help in some ways but non of us got the air play we know SOME deserve. HELL most of the people in charge aint from sac anyways...Time to let this go they way they have let us (The Artist) go...
Yes there are still stations in the Sac Underground Scene such as Kums.FM SacTownRadio KDVS Sac States Radio Station and all the Internet radio stations and blogs you can think of. Support them! I know you cant hear them in your car like you want or be at your desk to hear your favorite song all the time, but the more support the better chance of them making it...
That's just me...I'm not trying to start any Revolution against the radio stations either so don't think that...They are owned by clowns in suits that don't come to our shows, remember kids its all Marketing Dollars and Ratings...It might not be right in our eyes but that's truth
hey you said it best i don't think i need to go any further these fools (radio) never cared about us Bush!! repeat NEVER cared so the faster all these emcees stop worrying, complaining, crying, (add adjective here) about being the "king" of sac (yea I quoted MI, what up) and focus on an ALBUM not the next show at capital garage or what ever place will ALLOW a hip hop show. focus on a PLAN to get your music heard by people who matter, the fans, your potential fans, your audience. in closing, 916 hates hip hop, but I think you tried to tell em that before.... change cannot happen unless the individual is willing to first.
ReplyDelete80 West radio was tha biggest joke!!! The hosts, the format, the ass kissin in the studio...As far as Sac hating hip hop, I have to disagree. The fans LOVE us. There may be some venues that don't "do" hip hop, but those are few and far between. If we want our plants and ferns to grow, then we need to water them ourselves!!!
ReplyDeleteI was referring to the one entity that actually has a potentially LOUD voice of Sacramento hip hop in regards to "sac" hating hip hop. I know fans love it but un-fortunately their voice is softer than ours.... its not like the RADIO helps when you have a show right? but wait if jeezy comes through zokku and you hear about it even if you not tryin to listen hmmmmmmm?
ReplyDeletethere could be at least a link on their site where local artists can post info (for the fans)
ReplyDelete"I know you cant hear them in your car like you want"
ReplyDelete^^ALL IT TAKES IS A SMART PHONE AND A CAR STEREO WITH AN AUX. INPUT
AND IN-DASH INTERNET RADIO WILL BE STANDARD EQUIPMENT IN ALL NEW FORDS STARTING THIS YEAR TOO
i heard that, thats what I do in my car (ilove my iphone)
ReplyDeletei think that 80 West did what it was supposed to, anybody who thinks otherwise must have lingering negativity pinned up about not getting praise they feel they deserve. I think energy needs to be put into projects and not into bad talking, negativity only bring more negativity. Peopl need to look at themselves and wonder how to improve instead of beliving that they are perfect. As far as Sac hating hip hoop...i think that if your still confused as to the concept of what that movement was trying to highlight, you should read the blog which explains in great detail what was ment by it...just a thought...
ReplyDeleteBush, I agree with you. It's sad really sad and times like these call for artists to rise above and empower themselves to force suits to conform to us. It'll happen if there is uniformity and support amongst the artists
ReplyDeletewow this sactown radio.com is great who needs the bomb anyways how i didnt know about this b4
